160 students and coaches came together in Kranjska Gora at the culmination of the project "Creating Critical Minds and Voices in Europe".
15 countries and partner organisations send 10 participants from Belgium, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Spain, Slovakia, Slovenia, and The Netherlands.
Previously they had organised national tournaments and workshops to select candidates and discuss current themes in European politics.
At Kransjka Gora students discussed current events such as the rise of populism, fake news, and the refugee crisis, as well as timeless issues surrounding political participation and economics.
They also learned to air their newly-created views during debating workshops and a debate competition. The winners of the competition were team "Proudly Representing" from Latvia.
Students prepared questions and helped organise a succesful panel debate with: Member of European Parliament Tanja Fajon, Member of Slovenian Parliament and Spitzenkandidat Violeta Tomič, and professor at University of Ljubljana dr Jure Požgan.
